Hello to all and thanks for stopping by!! For starters, my name is Alanna (pronounced ah-lay-nah; its ok, most people don’t get it right) 😉. I am the breastfeeding, co-sleeping, baby led weaning, semi-crunchy, full-time student, working, single mother of an amazing 6 month old baby boy. He is my strength, my love, and my motivation to get through each day.
To be honest, I can’t promise my blog will always be the most exciting, but I promise to you, reading my words, that I will give you nothing less than the true and open pourings of my heart. The good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful. In return, I thank you for following, for your support and ask for your honesty and feedback.
So why “Raising the Lion King”?? Well; as a mother, (and through the many realizations that I will eventually get to writing about in my blog) I have realized that I want to raise my son to be nothing less than a King. I want to instill in him all the best, I want to guide him on the right path, and raise him to be a respectful, loving, level headed, deep thinking, kind, and caring man. My hope is that one day (if he so chooses) he will be an amazing husband and an amazing father; and the only way to get there is to allow him to build his life upon a strong foundation. (“Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6). The “lion” part actually comes from his name; Leonel (ley-oh-nehl). He has been my fierce little lion from the very beginning; and therefore, I am raising my little king of the jungle.
As we stumble through life, trying to balance it all, sometimes knowing you’re not alone is one of the greatest comforts. I hope that over time this page will become a community of support, and if nothing else, just a reminder that each day is beautiful and new! ❤
